Highlighted as an “undergraduate to watch” by the Vogue editorial team 1 year ago, Niels Peeraer is a Paris based Belgian designer who studied at Fashion Department, Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and graduated in 2011.
His last collection, consisting of solely vegetable tanned bridle leather, is about a girl and a boy, trying to protect their family crest and traditions.
His previous collection was about a boy who prepares himself every day to marry his imaginary boyfriend, while wearing his grandmother’s couture jackets, eating sweets and playing videogames. All that, wrapped around tweed, fake fur, tulle, sequined silk and killer leather accessories; portrayed by a very feminine Asian boy, while his main goal was to blur the boarders between women’s and men’s collections.
