Secluded African island . . . enough said. Are your bags packed yet? Should I add turquoise waters, pristine beaches, thatched roofed rooms, coral reefs and blush colored sunsets? Benguerra Island, the second largest of the six islands in the Bazaruto archipelago of Mozambique, is home to andBeyond‘s newly renovated resort. With just 10 Afro-portuguese-chic “casinhas” and a couple of larger cabanas, this paradisal getaway is nestled in an indigenous casuarina pine forest and opens up to panoramic views of the Indian ocean. It’s the kind of place you never want to leave. It’s also the kind of place that’s made it to my travel bucket list.
